Origin[]
Derek grew up to a family that had a strong respect for the dead, some would say that his family can speak to the dead. Because of this, Derek didn't have a lot of friends, so he decided to make friends with the spirits of those who have fallen. As his connection grew, he begun to literally see, hear and feel dead spirits of people and animals, this would become a problem in the future. By the time he had become a young adult, a mysterious light appeared in the cemetery where he worked. The light lead him to the grave of his grandparents and when he touched the light, he changed. His body had become consumed with dark energy and his hand formed into a clawed gauntlet. He saw what he turned into, caught somewhere between being alive and undead. A voice in his head began telling him what was happening, that he was meant to be the avatar of the fallen and would help the dead reclaim the land of the living. With this duty and the darkness flowing through his veins, he accepted this task. He is now the living dead, the herald to the deceased and greatest warrior of the Black Gauntlets, but he is better known as Death Claw.
